This week we have Top 7 again as none of the finalists were eliminated last week (Matt was “saved” by the judges). The theme for the week is Disco. Here are the perfomances and what the judges said about them:
Lil Rounds - “I’m Every Woman” by Chaka Khan
Randy said: You got the party started but it sounded so wild. It still didn’t show us what kind of artist you are. No vocal control shown. Kara said: We have been waiting for you to sing something like that but it wasn’t worth the wait. You still didn’t tell me who you are as an artist. Paula said: You were hot tonight but you didn’t hit the boiling point. Simon said: I think this is the last week we are ever going to see you. Your vocals were a mess.
Kris Allen - “She Works Hard For the Money” by Donna Summer
Kara said:You took a real risk with that arrangement. You showed us something about you. That could go on your record. Paula said: It had a classy Santana feel to it. You showed originality. Simon said: That was a complete total opposite from the first performance. It was original, it was thought out. That was not karaoke. It was a fantastic performance. Randy said: You know who you and you are ready for the big time.
