Kris Allen wins American Idol Season 8, beating Adam Lambert in the season ending finale held today!
While Kris has consistently turned in good performances throughout the season and was probably the contestant who “grew” the most, many would acknowledge that Adam is the stronger singer with his extraordinary vocal range and control (some even call him the best singer in Idol history).
No surprise then that many, including Kris himself, were shocked by the results announced during today’s finale show.
So what cost Adam the Idol crown? Was it the media attention highlighting his sexuality / morality? Or was it something else?

I have watched every episode of Idol but never has there been such a clear winner as Adam. I think Kris is adorable and see him selling tons of records to tweeners and their moms. Adam is so good that even though I dislike some of his music’s style I will still buy anything he records. The vocals are impeccable and his magnetism(X-factor) is off the chart and; yes, I know he’s gay.However the guys got it all. He should have been the winner hands down. Thanks to Idol for giving him to us but I will no longer follow the show unless I hear another Adam is on (fat chance).

Ummmm, everyone hold up just a minute. Obviously, Kris is awesome. I agree, Adam does sing good, but he screams half the time. Kris was the best one on there. Just because your favorite didn’t win, doesn’t mean you can down Kris for winning. Kris is the best, and I don’t care what the fuck anyone thinks, so just shut your mouth and go on about your business. Mkay? Problem settled Andddd I’m not downing Adam because hes gay, because I’m gay too. I’m just speaking the truth. So go clean out your ears, and listen to Kris. Okay?

Here is the reason why Kris won…
Adam was by far the best performer during the final week as well as all the other weeks prior. Because he was SO good, the “Adam” fans may have called a few times voting then would stop, thinking Adam had in the bag.
“Kris” fans, on the other hand, knew Kris was going to lose which was the driving force to keep them calling and voting.
Ok now, Adam has an awesome voice, yes and he is a great performer but Kris is a talented singer, songwriter and musician! Adam did nothing but sing with a lot of backup help. Kris did almost all of the music himself. They both are awesome and have awesome futures ahead of them so no one is really a loser!

America is full of IDIOTS, Adam was the clear choice. When he rocked with KISS, he RULED that stage. He is MY AMERICAN IDOL & I can’t wait until his CD comes out. ADAM- YOU RULE!!

I think this had to do with the media hurting Adam because of his sexuality - what is his sexuality - what does that have to do with a singing competition? This country is evil. Adam will continue to be Adam, so they going to keep asking him now still about his sexuality - or are they going to leave him alone now since they fucked up his American Idol title. He is who he is and has nothing to hide - Good for you Adam be yourself and good luck with your career.
kris is good and will have a nice national following and sucess. adam, on the other hand, is extrodianry and will have an international career that will blow your mind. can’t wait to follow his success. many people i have talked with think that this is the best thing to have happened. he is free to be who he is , excell in his artistry and not be hampered by the ai contract that will define kris for years to come. in a way, this was the best outcome for both of them. kris will excell in a very defined way, adam will not be defined at all. what a gift. adam lambert - brilliance, illumination,spectacular -light years ahead of the pack. love you adam.

I think the show is rigged. Obviously Adam should’ve won. Kris is good but not that good. Adam blows him away. Even Simon looked stunned that Adam didn’t win. I don’t think I’ll be watching american idol any more because of this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
