Top 4 week: what the judges said
This week we have the Top 4 perform - Matt Giraud was eliminated last week.
The theme for the week is Rock songs.
Here are the perfomances and what the judges said about them:
Adam Lambert - “Whole Lotta Love” by Led Zeppelin
Randy said: This is the Adam that I love. You were a rock star tonight. You and Slash could make a record.
Kara said: You are a rock god. You got the vocals for it. Yes, Yes, Yes.
Paula said: You are a whole lotta perfect.
Simon said: This could have been a disaster but it was one of my favorite performances you have ever done. Nobody can top that now.
Allison Iraheta - “Cry Baby” by Janis Joplin
Randy said: You can sing your face off but I didn’t like the song choice for you. I didn’t love this, it wasn’t that great for me.
Kara said: Janis is the right choice for you but maybe “Piece Of My Heart”. Were you nervous tonight?
Paula said: I think you are downright fearless. If they do a bio pic on Janis, you got the role.
Simon said: I thought you had complete confidence up there and it was a terrific vocal but it was a bit sound-a-like.
Kris Allen - “Come Together” by The Beatles
Randy said: You picked something that allowed you to be yourself. I wasn’t blown away but I liked the vocals. I liked you playing the guitar.
Kara said: You are the softer side of rock but this was not a great performance. It was trying to hard. It wasn’t the best song.
Paula said: It’s risky to do a Beatles song. You are an artist but you need to have more energy.
Simon said: I actually didn’t like it that much. It was like eating ice for lunch. It will leave you with nothing to remember afterward.
Danny Gokey - “Dream On” by Aerosmith
Randy said: I know this isn’t what you do but it was alright for me. It wasn’t perfect but you get an A+ for the valiant effort.
Kara said: You added more edge to your performance but you took it too far. I see you on early Aerosmith. It wasn’t perfect but you were bold and went for it.
Paula said: It wasn’t the right song for you but I am a huge fan of yours. I give an A++ for going for it.
Simon said: The last note was like watching a horror movie.
